Colour Stranded and Intarsia Knitting
A workshop to learn ‘classic’ Fair Isle and Fair Isle style knitting in colour using two yarns at a time, and introduce simple intarsia using many colours. You will explore the technique of knitting with two yarns at a time, (one in each hand!) will learn how to read and work from charts. We will discuss how to work in the round, and how to handle cast-ons and ribbings that work well with this style of colour work. You will see results using different types of yarns and discover new ways to use those luscious hand dyed and self-striping yarns in a variety of projects. You’ll see and work these two different ways of colour work, and learn to do smooth intarsia without holes or gaps. Suitable for anyone already confident with basic knitting: casting on and off, knit and purl.
