Finishing School:
Smooth Blocking, Perfect Seams and Fearless Grafting

· Introduction: what blocking and good seaming will add to your work.
· Technique: blocking boards and other options; using T-pins; using wires for lace blocking; pressing.
· Technique: How to work mattress stitch for perfect seams every time.
· Technique: Three needle bind off for joining shoulders, bag bottoms etc.
· Technique: How to confidently work Kitchener stitch/grafting.
A workshop to look at sewing up and finishing your knitted garments and picking up for necklines and collars. You will learn how to work three key techniques for a fine finish: Mattress Stitch, Three Needle Bind Off and Kitchener Stitch and the secret for simple, elegant and well-tensioned picking up. Suitable for anyone already confident with basic knitting: casting on and off, knit and purl.
