A beautiful selection of pure wool yarns from Traditional and Rare Breeds of Certified Organic British sheep, spun at a local mill where each batch of fleeces is identified and processed separately. The fleeces are hand washed in soft water with a biodegradable detergent and then carded and spun by machine. During the spinning a small amount of oil is added to the wool as necessary lubrication. This is removed in the final wash leaving a pure, clean yarn which is neither dyed nor is it bleached: all the colours are natural and so cannot run when washed. The whole process is environmentally friendly. These natural yarns are produced from sheep which are kept on organic land which is not treated with herbicides, pesticides or artificial fertilisers. Pure spun wool, certified organic by the Soil Association, in beautiful, natural, undyed colours. « Back |
